The best interest of a child in the context of biopsychosocial aspects of health

The rigorous work can be considered as a response to the issue of child health promotion, which is currently still focused mainly on somatic health, while there is a long-term deficit and underestimation of psychosocial health promotion. The systematically conceived theoretical part of the thesis is based on the existing health status of the population and presents the biopsychosocial concept of health and its legislative anchoring in relation to ensuring the best interests of the child. The work also includes reflections on health and illness as the ability to cope with life stress and maintain homeostasis. The fundamental concept is the recognition of a living organism as a self-regulatory system with the ability to create symptoms at all levels of existence. In the viewpoint of the rigorous work, symptomatology can be seen as a specific language that allows to find a way for the organism to stop producing the symptoms of the illness and to cure it. The thesis entirely respects current health services, which are extended to support the psychosocial aspects of health in such a way that its individual aspects are given comparable attention. For the purposes of practice, the work focuses on health education in the family and at school and on children with an increased need for psychosocial support..
