English: This thesis examines how the film can be used to promote critical literacy, which is rooted in the Curriculum (LK20). The examination is exemplified through the critical analysis of the film 12 Angry Men (1957). The findings suggest that teaching critical literacy is a complex matter and the theoretical field is a “work in progress”. Despite this, it seems as though the film is well-suited for the purpose of promoting critical literacy. Further research into the general use of film in promoting critical literacy would likely be beneficial to the field of critical literacy
