To date, most new wireless antenna designs have been derived from existing canonical designs or have been developed through the careful application of engineering judgment, expertise and experience to meet required conditions. An efficient tools is therefore needed to help researchers to design automatically new optimal structures with specific goals. In this thesis, it is presented how to couple genetic algorithm with transmission line matrix method, it can be use to improve and optimize original and non intuitive small printed antenna design for use in mobile communication devices in order to satisfy the situation of huge demand and compressed development cycle for antenna design.
