Various interpretations of the concept of digital literacy, derived from the new digital “culture of participation” (G. Jenkins), as pragmatic competencies of functional use of digital technologies and as cognitive skills of adequate understanding and critical selection of information (B. Chan) are described in the preamble of the article. Russian research projects dedicated to the measurement and monitoring of digital literacy among Russians are analyzed.
