The aim of this study is to determine changes of cardiorespiratory fitness in elderly after giving modified Javanese traditional dance for 12 weeks. This study is a experimental study with pre and post-test randomized control group design. The subjects were the elderly woman over 60 years old in the Hargodedali nursing home, Surabaya, Indonesia. Subjects in the treatment group participated in the modified Javanese traditional dance for 12 weeks, 3 times per week with a duration of 35 minutes per session. The control group subjects did not attend the dance session. Six minutes walking test (6MWT) and VO2 max were measured before before treatment and 12 weeks after treatment was finished.
