Background: Scabies is a relatively common infestation that can affect individuals of any age and socioeconomic status. Apart from the skin lesions or substantial morbidity, scabies also leads to social stigma. The worldwide prevalence is estimated to be 100 million people with wide variation in prevalence among different geographical regions. Many people complain of sleep disturbances and affection of work and leisure activities due to itching.
