Due to growing urbanization of mountainous areas, rock falls constitute a growing danger for people and facilities. The evaluation of their occurrence probability (hazard), which is mainly based on the expert judgment, is then subjective and qualitative. The scope of the present work is to contribute to the quantification of rock fall hazard, using both local (geomechanical) and regional (historical and geodynamical) approaches.
