International audienceWatersheds are multidimensional objects and their understanding requires an interdisciplinary approach. The study of the Yzeron’s watershed, under growing pressure from suburban sprawl, displays important landcover changes since the beginning of the 20th century. This changes modifies the watershed functioning in terms of hydrology, morphology, physical chemistry and biology: increase of flooding frequency of low to medium intensity, introduction of poor quality water, forming spectacular incisions upstream and sanding up downstream, etc. Results allowed us to give several innovative management guidelines and stress the importance of fluvial geomorphology in interdisciplinary researches of small periurban hydrosystems....
