This material represents the notes of a lecture made during the Lecture Series Programme, Computational Fluid held at the von Karman Institute in April 1993. We present the ENO methods in the context of the finite volume methods. Then we show how to extend them to multidimensional problems, in particular when the mesh become unstructured. We also discuss the different methods and give numerical illustrations
