This work aims at the realisation and characterization of electrodes for fuel cells. We used a bottom-up approach that enabled to make liquid nanocomposite dispersions of preformed organically capped platinum nanoparticles (NP) deposited on carbon nanotubes (NT). This original process enables the control of the covering of the nanotubes by the nanoparticles over a wide range. Then, filtration of the dispersions on carbon felt gives fuel cell electrodes of various compositions (1-300 µg Pt/cm², 10-80 µm thickness). These electrodes were qualified ex situ thanks to relevant parameters.
