Several biomarkers have been developed and described in the scientific literature and some of them may be used to assess the quality of the aquatic environment. However, in most cases, a single biomarker can hardly be used as an early signal exposure to contaminants and report the health status of organisms. The aim of our study was to develop a multibiomarker approach on juvenile marine fish (3-4 months) in order to evaluate the biological effects of chemical pollution at different levels of biological organization.
