The survey of explosive atmospheres (ATEX) explosions in workplaces shows that flammable gas, vapour or dust extraction networks and their associated equipment are involved in a significant proportion of accidents, even though their primary function is to reduce the worker exposure either to hazardous substances or to the explosion risk. Indeed, by collecting flammable substances, an ATEX may occur in the extraction network, a separation device or a fan. Whether dust or gases or vapours are considered, the risk that an ATEX can occur in networks and related equipment can be evaluated and reduced. It is therefore necessary to take into account the physical phenomena involved in the ATEX formation and the physical and chemical characteristics...
