This paper explores the tension between finding an approach to curriculum design that best fits the needs and experiences of individual students and teachers and implementing the findings of generalised evidence-based research.Big questions about personhood and the nature of reality are intertwined with real-world problems that affect individuals, societies and global communities – such as artificial intelligence, mental and physical health, the environment, and space travel.
