Over time, knowledge about different uses given to plants by the Gunas has been lost, so an ethnobotanical study focused on collecting knowledge of wild species used for cultural purposes was conducted on the island Narganá of the indigenous region of Guna Yala, republic of Panama. The aim was to promote a process of cultural affirmation among the indigenous inhabitants of the island of Narganá of the District of Guna Yala, conservation of natural resources; from their ethnobotanical knowledge. The information was obtained from collections of wildlife in forests and in accessible areas, interviews and surveys, both residents as key informants.
