The History of Youth and Adult Education in the Brazilian context is characterized by several elements strongly related to social, economic, ideological and cultural factors that have their roots since the colonization of Brazil and marked by different policies imposed by the interests of the elite. Thus, this study aims to identify the causes and consequences related to school dropout and the benefits of the permanence of Youth and Adult Education students in the school context, as well as to analyze the possible difficulties that affect the students of this type of education.
