Introduction: Hypothyroidism and metabolic syndrome (MetS) are well-known precursors of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. MetS refers to a set of risk factors that include hypertension, hyperglycemia, dyslipidemia, prothrombotic and proinflammatory states, all of which contribute to the body's atherogenic process.
