Micropropagação de mudas de bananeira em meio líquido

The banana is a fruit with a great economic importance, especially for the region of the "Vale do Ribeira", the largest producer in the State of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Seedlings growth is one of the main steps to be observed and performed with the utmost careto avoid contamination of materials and their proliferation in field conditions. Currently, the micropropagation technique has been used to obtain the seedlings, resulting in material free of pathogens, which gives greater security to the producer. The use of micropropagation results in higher cost of seedlings, what is compensated by the quality. One way to reduce the cost of this technique is reducing the amount of agar present in the culture medium. The objective of this research was to evaluate the response of banana to different compositions of culture medium, and the development of the seedlings. We have tested concentrations of agar: 0.0 (control), 1.2, 2.4, and 4.8 g L-1, mixed in MS medium, forming an experiment in 2 x 4 factorial scheme (cultivars x doses of agar ). After 25 days of transplant, we estimated the average plant height (cm), number and average length of roots (cm), dry mass of shoots and roots (g). Considering the results, we concluded that there is no need to use agar in the composition of the medium culture medium as for micropropagation of cultivars.A bananeira é uma espécie frutífera de grande importância econômica, principalmente para a região do Vale do Ribeira, maior produtora no Estado de São Paulo. A formação de mudas é uma das principais etapas a serem observadas e realizadas com o maior cuidado possível, evitando a contaminação de materiais e sua proliferação em condições de campo. Atualmente, a técnica de micropropagação tem sido utilizada na obtenção das mudas, resultando em materiais livres de patógenos, o que confere maior segurança ao produtor. O uso da micropropagação acarreta maior preço das mudas, o que é compensado pela qualidade. Uma das maneiras de se reduzir o custo dessa técnica é através da redução na quantidade de ágar presente no meio de cultura. Diante disso, objetivou-se, com este trabalho, avaliar a resposta da bananeira em diferentes concentrações de meio de cultura, bem como o desenvolvimento das mudas. Foram testadas as concentrações de ágar: 0,0 (testemunha); 1,2; 2,4; e 4,8 g.L-1, misturadas em meio MS, constituindo um experimento em esquema fatorial 2 x 4 (cultivares x doses de ágar). Após 25 dias da repicagem, avaliou-se a altura média das plantas (cm), número e comprimento médio das raízes (cm), massa seca da parte aérea e das raízes (g). Diante dos resultados, foi possível concluir que não há necessidade de uso de ágar na composição do meio de cultura para a micropropagação das cultivares testadas.
