The legacy of the school of scholastic theology that was established by Abū Manṣūr al-Māturīdī (d. 333/944) seems to have been attracting the long due interest of scholars in recent decades. Aldosari takes on such a task and presents to readers a critical edition of Imam ʿUmar al-Khabbāzī’s (d. 691/1292) Kitāb al-Hādī, with a brief introduction on the historical development of the school up to his time and the source analysis of the text
