The work consists of introduction, three chapters with subchapters and conclusions. The first section reviews the theoretical assumptions and forms of migration and analyzes the links between migration and national security. The second chapter is devoted to the overview of Lithuanian emigration volumes and the main guidelines of return migration policy. The third section analyzes the effects of emigration and immigration on Lithuania's national security. The effects of emigration are measured demographically, socially, scientifically. It also analyzes how emigration affects citizenship and national consciousness.
