A Survey of Negative and Positive Attitudes of Administrators Concerning Competitive Athletics for Women

The investigator wishes to point out that she is pursuing this study because of a profound interest in competitive athletics for women. An attempt is being made to determine from a selected battery of questions the negative and positive attitudes of the sample group toward competitive athletics for women. It is well to remember that the population under study is limited in scope in providing finality to this important problem. The problem, undertaken in this study, is one that has presented many questions. The most important of these are as follows: 1. In what group Principals, Superintendents, or Athletic Directors, does there appear to be most agreement or disagreement? 2. Does there appear to be a constant, a partial, or non-existing knowledge of women\u27s athletics within any of the groups? 3. In what question category does there appear to be most consistency? 4. What are some factors existing that may be a contributor to the acceptance or non-acceptance of women athletics? It is the purpose of this study to determine what factors (negative or positive) concerning athletics for women appear most frequently among Principals, Superintendents, and Athletic Directors
