Rapidly onset movement disorders after acute stroke not very commonly reported. The most commonly reportedmovement disorder after stroke is hemichorea-hemiballismus. Hemichorea; is sudden, spasmodic, irregular, short-termmovements of fingers, hands, arms, face, tongue or head involving one half of the body. Ballismus means high amplitude,violent, tossing or throwing movements.
