Tradisi Tahlilan Masyarakat Banjar di Kecamatan Pahandut Kota Palangka Raya

This article discusses tahlilan which can be understood by the general public, namely the activities of congregational dhikr carried out by a group or people who follow it. Tahlilan is a place or place where some groups gather to read a number of dhikr sentences that remind people of death and also an activity that draws closer to Allah Swt. The problem that is taken from this research is “what is the meaning and development in the implementation of the tradition of tahlilan in Pahandut District, Palangka Raya City?”. The purpose of this study was to determine the values and developments contained in the implementation of the tahlilan. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection using the method of observation, interviews, and documentation. In order to describe the social phenomenon in tahlilan activities in the Banjar community, Pahandut District, Palangka Raya City. The results show that the values and developments in the implementation of tahlilan are still attached to the values of tahlilan in the community such as alms, helping and friendship. In this case, tahlilan has a very important role in fostering community friendship such as conducting recitation and following the assembly, so that people’s knowledge will increase and can develop the tahlilan tradition properly
