Posverdad y democracia: una reflexión sobre los mecanismos de desinformación

The abundance of information has brought new challenges to our global digital societies, in such a way that it has become mandatory to speak of a “post-truth world” when we analyse the effects of technology and social media on our daily lives. The indelible mark of this issue has been cemented more and more noticeably in our public space: in 2016 the word of the year was post-truth (Hendricks and Vestergaard, 2019), and, in 2017, it was fake news (Dalkir and Katz, 2020). In this article, we attempt to systematize the main lines of reflection on the issue of disinformation and clarify the concepts associated with it, thus trying to highlight the different axes that constitute the complexity of the phenomenon.La abundancia de información ha traído nuevos desafíos a nuestras sociedades digitales globales, de tal manera que se ha vuelto obligatorio hablar d eun “mundo de la posverdad” cuando analizamos los efectos de la tecnología y las redes sociales en nuestra vida cotidiana. La huella indelible de este tem se ha ido cimentando cada vez más notoriamente en nuestro espacio público: en 2016 la palabra del año fue posverdad (Hendricks y Vestergaard, 2019), y en 2017, fake news (Dalkir y Katz, 2020). En este artículo pretendemos sistematizar las principals líneas de reflexión sobre el tema de la desinformación y esclarecer los conceptos asociados a la misma, tratando así de resaltar los diferentes ejes que constituyen la complejidad del fenómeno
