In a world of rapidly rising global temperatures, demand for air conditioning systems is up. However, our current technology is an environmental disaster, and is directly responsible for a significant amount of the increased global temperatures it\u27s responding to, currently accounting for about 10% of all global electricity usage. Finding a sustainable alternative is an important, and often overlooked aspect of solving the climate crisis, but alternatives are available. In particular, passive cooling approaches such as radiative cooling have emerged in recent years, and are now developed enough to be viable alternatives. In this paper, we explore the physics and design of such technologies, and argue for their widespread implementation
