Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is often associated with a myriad of complications as the disease progresses. These cause significant morbidity and mortality among diabetic patients. There is a limited published data in this part of the country regarding the hospitalization patterns of diabetic patients, the reasons for admissions due to development of acute or chronic complications.
