JUS WORTEL (DAUCUS CAROTA L) TURUNKAN TEKANAN DARAH IBU HAMIL

Background: Hypertension in pregnancy is one of the three highest causes of death and morbidity in pregnant women in Indonesia. One alternative to lower blood pressure is to use carrots which are rich in potassium which is a diuretic and vasodilator, so it can control blood pressure to normal.Purpose : This study was conducted to determine the effect of carrot juice on reducing blood pressure of pregnant women.Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group approach. The population in this study were all pregnant women with hypertension at the Sukabumi Public Health Center. The sample of this research was 32 respondents divided into 2 groups, using simple random sampling technique. Respondents were given 100 g of carrot juice / day for 7 days. Then evaluated to measure blood pressure.Results: Analysis using the Wilcoxon test obtained p systolic and diastolic p values from the control group of 0.000 (p 0.05).
