Introduction. The progression of diabetic kidney disease (DKD) is closely related to renal tubular epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and tubulointerstitial fibrosis. Tanshinone IIA (TSIIA), extracted from atraditional Chinese medicine named Salvia miltiorrhiza, has been proved to have anti-fibrosis effects.
