The Gummel-Poon model is improved for more accurate bipolar transistor circuit simulation. In the present model, the models for the junction capacitances account for more physical effects and, with the aid of a two-dimensional device simulator (PISCES), the junction voltage nodes are more explicitly defined than those of the Gummel-Poon model. The present model is also implemented in a circuit simulator (SLICE) to demonstrate its applications in computer-aided circuit design
