Analytical models of the spatial power spectra of temperature fluctuations and refractive index fluctuations that feature a bump at high wave numbers have recently been developed. These models, based on the effects of intermittency, evolved through an approximation for the intermittency effect that led to a two-term modification of the standard Tatarski spectra models. In this paper we further examine the intermittency correction with experimental data and standard spectra models. Specifically, we develop more accurate approximations to the intermittency effect that lead to a four-term modification of the Tatarski model.
