CLEÓPATRA : ALÉM DA DICOTOMIA ENTRE FICÇÃO E REALIDADE

The article presents the results of an essay that searched on analyzing the different attributes that overlaid representations of the historical Cleopatra from a corpus formed by different audiovisual productions: “Cleopatra (Gaskill, USA, 1912), “Cleopatra” (Mankiewicz, UK, 1963) and the contemporary comedy “Asterix&Obelix: mission Cleopatra” (Chabat, Fra/Ger, 2002). The article is about the idea on which the ways of cinematography actions witnessed the world’s conception (FERRO, 2010) that documented and monumentalized (NAPOLITANO, 2011) through an ocidentalization process (SAID, 1990; SHOHAT, 2004) which secured mystics, exotics and sexual characteristics in this notorious and female character, culminating in the reinvention of the last Egyptian ruler.O artigo apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa que procurou analisar os diferentes atributos que revestiram representações da histórica rainha Cleópatra. O corpus dessa investigação, que buscou no cinema a fonte histórica e material para essa análise, abarca três distintas produções cinematográficas: “Cleópatra” (Gaskill, USA, 1912), “Cleópatra” (Mankiewicz, UK, 1963) e a comédia contemporânea “Asterix&Obelix: missão Cleópatra” (Chabat, Fra/Ger, 2002). O trabalho pauta-se na ideia de que os modos de ação cinematográficos testemunharam as concepções de mundo (FERRO, 2010) que documentaram e monumentalizaram (NAPOLITANO, 2011) um processo de ocidentalização (SAID, 1990; SHOHAT, 2004) que assegurou características místicas, exóticas e sexuais à personalidade célebre e feminina, culminando na (re)invenção da última monarca egípcia
