O TEATRO AMADOR NAS PRIMEIRAS DÉCADAS DO SÉCULO XX: : ENTRE A CAPITAL E O INTERIOR

This article aims to analyze, through the approach of Cultural History, amateur theater cratense during the first decades of the twentieth century. In this period, an amateur theater was developed in the main Brazilian capitals, characterized by groups that created their shows to be presented to the various social strata and who escaped from the commercial logic of a professional theater, as was the case in Rio de Janeiro. In the city of Crato, interior of Ceará, an amateur theater group was formed in 1942, formed by adolescents who received the guidance of an intellectual elite formed by doctors, lawyers, politicians, and local merchants. We believe that through the analysis of the performance of this group, we will be able to perceive the values of the people living in the Crato of the studied period, as well as the function performed within the society in which it was inserted. We used as a methodology for this work the bibliographical research, and the analysis of varied types of sources, among them, memories, programs of plays, period newspapers and magazines.Este artigo tem o objetivo de analisar, pela ótica da História Cultural, o teatro amador cratense durante as primeiras décadas do século XX. Nesse período, desenvolvia-se nas principais capitais brasileiras um teatro amadorístico, construído por grupos que criavam seus espetáculos para serem apresentados às várias camadas sociais e que fugiam da lógica comercial do teatro profissional, conforme ocorria no Rio de Janeiro. Na cidade do Crato, interior cearense, foi criado, em 1942, um grupo de teatro amador formado por adolescentes que recebiam a orientação de uma elite intelectual formada por médicos, advogados, políticos e comerciantes locais. Através da análise da atuação desse grupo, podemos perceber os valores cratenses do período estudado, bem como a função que esse grupo desempenhava dentro da sociedade em que estava inserido. Para tanto, cruzaremos variados tipos de fontes, entre elas memórias, programas de peças teatrais, jornais e revistas da época
