Hyptis capitata is one of the important traditional medicinal plants, in which different parts of the plant are used in various countries in treating several diseases. This review was conducted to present a comprehensive overview of distribution, taxonomic characters, ethnobotany and the various pharmacological properties of H. capitata This review presents scientific information about pharmacological potentials of H. capitata as a medicinal ingredient and its opportunities to be developed and utilized more broadly.
