Throughout its existence, criminal science has attempted to build a systematic structure around crime and its constituent elements. That has perhaps been its main purpose: to rationally explain what a crime is and why the State has the legitimacy to impose a penalty on whoever committed it. Within the framework of this dogmatic necessity, the concept of action had, and continues to have, in a wide sector of doctrine, a preponderant role.
