This paper presents the study of authorship of men and women of the research contributions published in a selection of ten Spanish Archaeology journals over the last half century. The percentage of representation of women in these high-ranking journals and its evolution during this period is analysed. It is also addressed if there are differences in the proportion of female and male authors according to single and multiple authorships, in signature positions and whether the sex/gender of the first authorship has any influence in the rest. Besides, the study tackles the subject of these contributions and also in accordance with sex/gender of the authorship.
