There are established gender differences in both anxiety and depressive symptoms and academic performance, with girls presenting higher symptoms and better academic performance than boys. However, gender differences in the associations between anxiety and depressive symptoms and academic performance remain unclear. The aim of this study was to examine gender differences in the associations between anxiety and depressive symptoms and academic performance among Icelandic adolescents.
