In Iceland, the share of work carried out in projects is 28% of total economic activities. Many have direct and indirect negative impacts on non-human animals and animal habitats, despite mandatory and voluntary advances to minimise that impact. Semi-structured interviews (n=9) were conducted, and questions (n=1) were asked to assess the relationship humans have with non-human animals, the current ethical and legal status of non-human animals and how non-human animals are considered in the field of project management. Results portray a double-standard concerning societal sentiment toward non-human animals; participants felt that non-human animal welfare should be secured, but most did not consider the intrinsic value of the non-human animal...
