In this article an interpretation of various authors and studies that deal with servant leadership and its importance in the culture and development of organizational strategies, through a detailed, selective and critical study through an evolutionary and updated search in databases. Studies on the servant leader have increased, most of them are recent,recognizing that it is a relevant topic. The helpful leader generates positive impacts in the organization, improves the organizational climate and individual performance. Additionally, it helps to reduce staff turnover.
