El éxito del turismo comunitario en Latinoamérica

This thesis looks at the growing sector of community-based tourism that is emerging as a form of sustainable tourism. Despite the many possible benefits that it can provide to rural, impoverished communities, there are still many flaws to the system that lead to the majority of community initiatives failing. Latin America has a long history of developing community-based tourism programs to aid in poverty reduction, and there are plenty of examples of successful initiatives. This thesis considers the factors that are present in Latin American community-based programs that are lacking in less successful examples from other areas of the world, the way that these factors help lead to their success, and how these strategies can be used to aid other communities to be successful in the future
