The roles of American-Israel public affairs committee (AIPAC) on Obama's foreign policy towards Israeli-Palestinian conflict

American-Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) is one of the most powerful lobby groups in the United States of America (U.S.A). It always guarantees the special relationship between the U.S and Israel. This group has many strategies and tactics to influence the U.S. foreign policy. This research focuses on the role of AIPAC towards Israeli-Palestinian conflict during Obama's Presidency Term, 2009 – 2017. It also highlights the power sources of AIPAC that undermined the vision of President Obama to resolve Israeli-Palestinian conflict based on Two-State solution according to United Nation Security Council resolutions 242 and 338 and according to Oslo agreement made between Israeli government and Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO). This research uses qualitative method and adopts respondents’ experiences to follow up on the influence of Israel-lobby on the U.S foreign policy toward Israel-Palestinian conflict. The primary data was collected through direct interview with seventeen respondents and through email interview with one respondent, while the secondary data was collected from various documents on the subject matter. The interview data was transcribed and thematically analyzed. The research establishes that AIPAC played a negative role toward the solution of Israeli-Palestinian conflict through the influence on the U.S Congress members to ensure that President Obama was unable to pressurize Israel for the establishment of an independent state of Palestine on the territories that were occupied by Israel since 1967. The research also reveals that the power sources of AIPAC include dominance on the giant media, funding of election campaigns, controlling Think-tank institutions and monitoring campus watch. However, despite the efforts of four special envoys for peace in the Middle East along with the efforts of both Secretary of States during the Obama’s Presidency, Hillary Clinton and John Kerry, the findings also reveal that the term of President Obama ended with the death of Two-State solution that had been the only real legacy of Obama. The research also highlights the legal and moral responsibility of the international community towards ending the Israeli-Palestinian conflict based on the United Nation Security Council resolution for the establishment of the Two-States
