Distribuição espacial de foraminíferos e tecamebas do estuário do Rio Piauí, Sergipe

The distribution of the benthic Foraminifera and Tecamoebina in the Piauí River Estuaiy, Sergipe (NE-Brasil) and their relationship with the abiotic parameters was described. Data was obtained from 65 bottom sediment samples. One hundred and sixteen species of Foraminifera from the suborders Textulariina, Miliolina and, Rotaliina, and twelve species of Thecamoebina were identified. The suborder Rotalliina presented the highest relative frequency. Ammonia beccarii was the most abundant and Arenoparrella mexicana was the most constant species. The estuary was divided in: a) subregion A, upper estuary, with a predominance of testaceous; b) subregion B, central part of estuary, where A. mexicana and A. beccarii were the most abundant species; c) subregion C, the lower part of the estuary, where A. beccarii, and Rotalia cubeusis (Rotalliids), A. mexicana and Textularia candeiana (Textulariids), Milionella subrotunda and Triloculina laevigata (Miliolids), were the most abundant species.Com o objetivo de estudar a distribuição dos foraminíferos e tecamebas do estuário do Rio Piauí, Sergipe e suas relações com os parâmetros abióticos, foram analisadas 65 amostras de sedimento de fundo. Foram identificadas 116 espécies de foraminíferos pertencentes às subordens Textulariina, Miliolina e Rotaliina e 12 espécies de tecamebas. A subordem Rotaliina apresentou maior freqü.ncia relativa. Ammonia beccarii foi a espécie com maior taxa de dominância e Arenoparrella mexicana, com a maior taxa de constância. O estuário foi dividido em: a) sub-região A, zona superior, com predomínio de tecamebas; b) sub-região B, zona intermediária com maior abundância de A. mexicana e A beccarii; c) sub-região C, zona inferior do estuário, com maior abundância de A. beccarii e Rotalia cubensis (Rotalliina), A. mexicana e Textularia candeiana (Textualariina), Miliolinella subrotunda e Triloculina laevigata (Miliolina)
