The objectives of this research are to identify the types of cohesion and to explain the occurring types of cohesion in terms of compatibility as language inputs in 4 recount texts in the English textbook of senior high school grade X” by Education and Culture Ministry of the Republic of Indonesia.This study applied qualitative method. The data were in the form of sentences and were collected by note taking. The instrument was the researcher herself. The data were analyzed using the categorization of cohesion, namely grammatical and lexical cohesion proposed by Halliday and Hasan.
