POLA KOMUNIKASI ORANG TUA DALAM MEMBIMBING ANAK MENONTON TAYANGAN YOUTUBE

ABSTRACTSocial media has a positive role in learning and delivering educational messages, both in cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. However, the presence of television also has the potential to have a negative impact on children, both toddlers and teenagers. One way that parents can do to guide their children to watch useful television shows is through appropriate and effective communication. The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach. A qualitative approach is a research and understanding process based on a methodology that investigates a social phenomenon and human problem. In qualitative research, the most important data collection techniques used are in-depth interviews and observations, and supported by document recording. The role of parents in guiding children to watch television shows is very important, although it cannot be denied that in practice it is not easy. Generally, parents guide their children to watch television by accompanying their children when watching television and applying democratic communication patterns. Obstacles for parents in supervising children in this case are due to the busyness of parents who work or have activities outside the home, so they have little time to guide children in watching shows.Keywords: Communication Pattern, Parents, Guiding Children, Watching Youtub
