Cuba: un sueño que nunca existió

The role of the pre-revolutionary bourgeois elites in the Cuban state has been marked by desertion, desperation and corruption.desertion, desperation and corruption. However, those who decided to stay in Cuba, mostly the working class who hoped for the arrival of social justice and popular democracy, continue to face widespread misery, corruption, shortages and authoritarianism of the regime, leading to despair. Increasingly, what was hoped for after the Cuban Revolution seems nothing more than false promises, and life on the island is driven by nostalgia for what could have been and never came.El papel de las élites burguesas anteriores a la Revolución en el Estado cubano, ha estadomarcado por la deserción, la desesperación y la corrupción. El querer evitar perderlo todo llevo a quienes tenían cierta riqueza a tomar medidas desesperadas tras el triunfo castrista, aun así perdiendo grandes porcentajes de sus fortunas. Sin embargo, quienes dejaron la isla aún tienen un papel importante en la economía principalmente a través de las remesas. Avanzando en el tiempo encontramos que, el cambio de élites que se dio tras la Revolución, llevó a que solo aquellos vinculados al Partido Comunista representarán la élite de poder del Estado. Sin embargo, quienes decidieron quedarse en Cuba, en su mayoría la clase obrera que esperaba la llegada de la justicia social y la democracia popular, siguen enfrentándose a la miseria generalizada, la corrupción, la escasez y el autoritarismo del régimen, llevando a la desesperanza. Cada vez más lo que se esperaba tras la Revolución cubana no parecen más que falsas promesas, y la vida en la isla es llevada por la nostalgia de lo que pudo ser y nunca llegó
