The feasibility of supporting a general-purpose discrete modeling capability in a miniprocessor environment is investigated. The specific modeling capability chosen, the system-state model, is represented by three languages which provide structural, supplementary, and interactive control specifications. These languages are designed for interactive use on a minicomputer by unsophisticated users for both tutorial and full-fledged system studies. A hypothetical minicomputer design is specified to serve as a medium of implementation for the computational form of the system-state model.
