Young also responds to audience questions about whether he kept notes while serving in the Army or if his memoir was written entirely from memory, if there was any step in the process of writing Eat the Apple that required him to get permission from the Army in order to publish it, what he deliberately chose to leave out and why, what got him started writing, how to support active military and/or student veterans, and how he approached his descriptive writing.
