The gas injection method was first discovered in 1930 with high effectiveness. In its application, CO2 injection has been carried out in several methods, namely miscible CO2 injection and immiscible CO2 injection. CO2 flooding has the advantage of being an effective Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) method by reducing the amount of oil remaining in the reservoir through several mechanisms such as: oil swelling, viscosity reduction, and miscible displacement. The weakness in the hydrocarbon sweeping process can cause the phenomenon of gravity segregation, viscous fingering, and channeling.
