Peran Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah Dalam Pengendalian Kebakaran Hutan Di Provinsi Riau (Studi Kabupaten Rokan Hilir)

This study aims to explain the role of the Regional Disaster Management Agency in Controlling Forest Fires in Riau Province (Study of Rokan Hilir Regency). This research method is descriptive qualitative. Data analysis technique using triangulation technique. The results of this study explain that the role of the Riau Province Regional Disaster Management Agency in controlling and preventing forest and land fires has carried out its duties and functions in accordance with Law Number 24 of 2007 concerning Disaster Management. Disaster management control in the pre-disaster phase includes fire disaster mitigation activities that have been carried out by the Riau Province Regional Disaster Management Agency in coordination with other institutions and the community and business actors. To reduce the risk/impact caused by fire disasters in the form of collation maps of disaster-prone areas and conduct socialization and education on fire disaster awareness to the public, as well as the implementation of prevention and preparedness activities carried out by BPBD Riau Province against fire disasters in Rokan Regency. Downstream has been implemented, there are fire emergency response activities carried out by the Riau Province BPBD, this is because at the provincial level, the Riau Province BPBD acts as a disaster management coordinator. The Riau Provincial Government together with stakeholders must be active as early as possible in preventing land forest fires in Riau Province
