Pemanfaatan Limbah Kulit Nanas Menjadi Sumber Bioetanol Untuk Kegunaan Sebagai Wax Inhibitor

The phenomenon of paraffin wax deposition which causes a partial or total blockage of the pipe flow rate so that it disrupts the oil industry's activities because it can cause a decrease in the rate of production. Treatment needs to be done, one of which is to use preventive methods that are wax inhibitors which are expected to inhibit the crystallization of paraffin wax and solvents can be used as wax inhibitors. Several methods are used in making solvent or bioethanol products, namely pre-treatment with physical treatment. The next method is hydrolysis and fermentation where the hydrolysis aims to break lignin and hemicellulose, damage the crystal structure and increase the porosity of the material, while the change of pentose and some glucose into ethanol is present in the fermentation process, then purified by the distillation process to obtain bioethanol products which are applied with waxy crude oil which can reduce the pour point value of oil. From the hydrolysis process with 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, and 25% acid variations, the value of reducing sugars is increasing and the temperature variation of 50°C to 100°C continues to increase until it reaches the optimal point of 18.2°Brix and after it keeps decreasing. Then the distillation process is carried out to get ethanol products from samples with a volume of 450 mL to ± 50 mL of ethanol with different ethanol content. The amount of inoculant also affects the level of bioethanol where the optimum results are by using inoculants as much as 0.015 g / mL which produces 6% levels of bioethanol. Bioethanol 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 50%, and 100% is applied to waxy crude oil and can reduce the pour point value by 1-3°C. So it can be concluded that bioethanol which is used as a solvent can potentially inhibit paraffin deposition
