Hubungan Antara Kontrol Diri Dengan Nomophobia (no Mobile Phone Phobia) Pada Mahasiswa

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SELF-CONTROL AND NOMOPHOBIA (NO MOBILE PHONE PHOBIA) ON STUDENTS ELNI SAFIRA 178110035 FACULTY OF PSYCHOLOGY ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY OF RIAU ABSTRACT Students in the current digital era are very following technological developments, especially the development of smartphones. This makes students unable to stay away from smartphones, causing fear and anxiety when they are cannot use smartphones which makes students experience modern phobias or known as nomophobia (no mobile phone phobia). Nomophobia experienced by each individual is influenced by the presence of self-control factors which is one of the causes of individuals not being able to stay away from smartphones. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-control and nomophobia (no mobile phone phobia) on students. The subjects in this study amounted to 384 students at the Islamic University of Riau, Abdurrab University, and Lancang Kuning University. The sampling technique uses Probability Sampling with the type of Cluster Sampling. The data collection method used the self-control scale compiled by Putri (2019) with a total of 30 items and the NMP-Q (Nomophobia Questionnaire) scale compiled by Yildirim and Correia (2015) and translated by Asih (2017) with a total of 20 items. Data analysis method using Pearson Product Moment correlation. The results of statistical analysis showed that the correlation coefficient r = 0,310 with a p value of 0,000 (p < 0,05) it can be concluded that there is a significant positive relationship between self-control and nomophobia (no mobile phone phobia) on students, this shows that the higher of self-control so the higher of nomophobia (no mobile phone phobia) experienced, and conversely the lower of self-control so the lower of nomophobia (no mobile phone phobia) experienced
