Perkembangan Tari Tradisi Kuda Lumping Di Kelompok Tari Turonggo Bekso Desa Beringin Indah Kecamatan Pangkalan Kuras Kabupaten Pelalawan Provinsi Riau

This study aims to describe the development of the traditional Kuda Lumping Dance in the Turonggo Bekso Dance Group, Beringin Indah Village, Pangkalan Kuras District, Pelalawan Regency, Riau Province. The elements contained in dance are movement, music, floor patterns, costumes and make-up, dynamics, properties, themes, stage settings, and lighting. The theory used is the theory of Sumandio Hadi (2002: 7), development is a creation, renewal and creativity to add or enrich without leaving the basic values of existing traditions. This study uses a descriptive analysis method with qualitative data. The time of the research was carried out in a period of 5 months, namely from August to January. The research location was conducted in the Turonggo Bekso Dance Group, Beringin Indah Village, Pangkalan Kuras District, Pelalawan Regency, Riau Province. The object of this research is the Kuda Lumping traditional dance. The subjects of this study were 5 people, namely the head of the dance group, dancers, musicians, and make up and costumes. Types and sources of data used in this study are primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques are carried out by: (1) observation techniques, (2) interview techniques, (3), documentation. Data analysis techniques use data reduction, data display or data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the development of the elements of the Kuda Lumping dance tradition, namely motion, music, floor patterns, dynamics, costumes and theme make-up, property and lighting. This development is based on the ideas or ideas of a dance artist but does not change the form of the dance. The aim of the development of the Kuda Lumping dance is as a public entertainment and as a development in the world of art, especially in the field of dance
